Technology Blog permalink changed

Just like the design, we at Tech36 are experimenting with the link structure. The new difference in the link structure is that date comes in between.

This trend is a new trial. We will let you know if this was beneficial for the website ranking and visitors.

Privacy on Orkut

Search Engine giant Google’s social networking website, Orkut allows you to set the privacy level of your profile (your page on Orkut which others see). All these features were not there in the old version of Orkut, but the new version of Orkut allows it all.

First of all a small intro on the dangers that people used face, it has also been accused as a medium for the death of some people. Some muslim countries have blocked Orkut.

Now Orkut is doing more for the privacy of its users. New features like only friends get to see albums and videos et cetera. This will considerably reduce abuse, unless you add bad people or unknown people into your friends list.

Privacy settings page on Orkut

Go to http://www.orkut.com/PrivacySettings.aspx and change the settings as you like and thats all. Better be safe than sorry.

Text generator clarification

Tech36 recently launched a new in house software, Text Generator. Many people, especially from Digital Point appeared clueless about why I made such tool.

Please remember, this tool was not made to fool search engines or increase page rank of your website (I have clearly mentioned about Googlebot being smart). It was a trial software made in Delphi.

To prevent massive abuse of search engine spamming, I didn’t allow people to copy text that it had generated.

This software was a trial version and doesn’t have 1% of the power that the full version has. The full version of this software will be released in 3-4 months.

Google’s new image search idea

Google, the search engine giant, have a new technology up their sleeves, this will be coming soon. It is a new type of image search. Just as Google gives page rank to every web page in its index, it is going to give images with a similar ranking.

Scientists from Google have submitted the paper. In this they claim that computers will be used to analyze not only the text associated with the image but the things in the image too.

Search engines today solely rely on text associated with the image, but this new technology will ensure that people will be able to get the right image results.
Google Image Search for keyword red

The above search was made on Google’s Image Search section and the tag red was used. From the above image we can see that all the results depend on the text associated with the image.
