Subscribing to a feed can be helpful if you want to follow new news and updates on a blog or a website. Feed is a XML based document containing the different articles or posts within a website. Subscribing to a feed using Live Bookmarking (in Firefox), makes it easier and simple.

To subscribe to a feed to the following:

Go to the feed URL. Usually the feed URL is shown using a Orange Box.

After going to the feed URL following will be shown in Firefox:

Now select Live Bookmarks as your option and click on Subscribe Now.

Using feeds is very simple. A tab will come on your browser, click on it to see the new posts. This feature is not only in Tech36 Technology Blog but also can be seen on most of the Blogs which run on wordpress and also in many other blogs and websites.

It is the best way too stay updated with the blog/website you like.

It was the hot buzz all over that Microsoft will release it’s service pack 3 version of Windows XP. Finally it has and it is available at the Microsoft website for  download.  It  comes along with many hot fixes for better security and performance.

Microsoft Windows XP SP2 is known to have many flaws and features. There were claims that someone had released Microsoft Windows XP Ultimate, just like Windows Vista Ultimate. This version has over 1000 fixes for the bugs in Windows XP SP2.

So there is a demand for content and you don’t know where to get it from? Well I made a tool which works as a Text Generator. It works pretty neat and does the work well. It randomly generates text. It has been coded in Delphi.
Installation is not a big deal in this. All you have to do is download the tool from below and run it. Sometimes, computer hangs up when you ask it to generate 10000+ lines of text. But generating 10000+ lines of text for one page is useless.

I have a bsnl 2 mbps broadband connection which is known for its speed in my country. But speed equivalent to what I got in utorrent was never achieved before. For a standard 2 mbps connection, we should get a download speed of 256 kbps, I know , but the actual speed is never achieved. But this time I got real close to it by using utorrent and some very high seeded torrents. I got the torrents from mininova, which then asked me to install utorrent and download. I was astonished seeing the plain power and speed of these torrents. Yet utorrent was so simple to use.
I am not giving free publicity to utorrent, but I really liked the speed in which I could share and download files. Any new file I make, will be put on one of the torrent sites and download starts. If people like it, even they can seed it using utorrent.
You do have to remember that utorrent is not the only torrent downloading tool which gives high speed, there are many others.
Do remember that you can use torrents to share files under GPL or Free distribution only. Due to the ease of sharing, there is lot of piracy too.

bbPress was made by the developers of Wordpress, Matt Mullenweg being the main person behind this project. bbPress is a forum software that can be easily integrated with wordpress if it is placed in the same folder in which wordpress is placed, else integration becomes a little harder but it can be done. My forum is also powered by bbPress and it does a good job, but that does not mean it does not need more development, there are some bugs that need to be fixed.

I did a lot of searching inside the bbPress source and found that unless a code which was modified is installed on your server, there is not much to worry about getting hacked. But still there is one exploit which may come after installing Allow Images script (hey, I am just telling, I am not sure if it’ll come) and the problem that may come is cookie theft, but even if you’re cookie gets stolen, all you have to do is log out and login. If you want to be safe, be sure you install plugins only from the bbpress.org website, don’t take it from any other source no matter what it claims.

Another good thing about bbPress is that it is free, unlike other forum systems like vBulletin. You won’t have to take the software from insecure Warez sites and you won’t go to jail if you use it. bbPress is released under the GPL license, so it can be used freely for commercial purposes but you are not allowed to modify the code.

This is all the good part of this software but there is another side to it, it’s not that simple, especially while integration with Wordpress which is placed in another folder. Practically I had to do a lot of work inorder to integrate and I am good in PHP, but what about the people who have no idea about PHP? Well they will not be able to integrate these two very well. If you don’t have to integrate then all you have to do is edit the config-sample.php file and rename it to config.php (You’ll have to enter details like Mysql user name, password, database etc..).

Looking at how big the Warez market is growing, torrent sites are the unofficial leaders in this business. Sites like Rapidshare are used to download small files which cost less, but real piracy of movies, highly priced softwares and games happen via torrent and this cannot be stopped. Though some services like Mininova and Torrentz can be stopped, the people running the torrents cannot be touched, this is because unlike the Warez sites where individuals are uploading files, here all the downloaders are themselves sending the files, making it near impossible to stop all of them unless the torrent tracker is brought down. But how can all the trackers be brought down? If there is one falling in US, a more powerful one will be started in Hong Kong and if it falls in Hong Kong, there are other places where it can be opened, may be in an underground basement too.

I have a 3 Ghz, 1 gb ram computer with a 40 gb hard disk Anyway it does what it has to and it’s pretty fast, recently I put FIFA 2007 and the whole thing got ruined, I mean the computer became a little slow so I did some research and found out that computer can be made. Windows does provide a De-Fragmenting tool but I didn’t want to use it, after some browsing I found out that UltimateDefrag was a good de-fragmenting tool.

It’s very simple to use this tool, believe me when I say that it’s easy. Download the tool from a good source and then install and open the software and you’ll see the fragmented part and then click on start and the defragmenting will start. My 40 gb hard-disk took 20 minutes to get defragmented.
