Looking at how big the Warez market is growing, torrent sites are the unofficial leaders in this business. Sites like Rapidshare are used to download small files which cost less, but real piracy of movies, highly priced softwares and games happen via torrent and this cannot be stopped. Though some services like Mininova and Torrentz can be stopped, the people running the torrents cannot be touched, this is because unlike the Warez sites where individuals are uploading files, here all the downloaders are themselves sending the files, making it near impossible to stop all of them unless the torrent tracker is brought down. But how can all the trackers be brought down? If there is one falling in US, a more powerful one will be started in Hong Kong and if it falls in Hong Kong, there are other places where it can be opened, may be in an underground basement too.

I have a 3 Ghz, 1 gb ram computer with a 40 gb hard disk Anyway it does what it has to and it’s pretty fast, recently I put FIFA 2007 and the whole thing got ruined, I mean the computer became a little slow so I did some research and found out that computer can be made. Windows does provide a De-Fragmenting tool but I didn’t want to use it, after some browsing I found out that UltimateDefrag was a good de-fragmenting tool.

Using UltimateDefrag

It’s very simple to use this tool, believe me when I say that it’s easy. Download the tool from a good source and then install and open the software and you’ll see the fragmented part and then click on start and the defragmenting will start. My 40 gb hard-disk took 20 minutes to get defragmented.

Gaming is a passion for me and I rarely cheat in any game but when I was 15 I had a strategy, first finish the game by cheating and then win it in the proper manner without any cheats. Well Artmoney is a software for all the cheaters and no game escapes it.

All games store data in ram, Artmoney searches for the values in the ram and you can modify it. Like if you have made 5 goals in FIFA 2007, you search for 5 and then make it 100 and you’ll have 100 goals in your credit. A mobile 3gp video had to be converted to wmv so that I could upload it to Youtube, I did a lot of searching and finally ended up with ImTOO 3GP converter and till now this is the best converter I have, the speed is good and the converted video quality was good.

Being a music addict and a part time DJ I am always on a look out for cool new tools that I can work my music with and Virtual DJ 5 is one tool that I had to check out. Though I didn’t buy the full version, I checked out the trial version which can be downloaded from their website and the experience that I had with mixing and looping with Virtual DJ 5 was awesome and I spent nearly 6 hours mixing some of my songs in it along with a Hercules Turntable.

Well as I told you I had a wonderful experience with it and I could do a lot of stuff with it, I downloaded a plugin called Beatgrid and it gave some nice effects to the song, it comes with the ability to scratch using mouse but I preferred using a turntable and did some smooth scratches and ofcourse the ability to loop with it was awesome. There are a lot of plugins available with it that can be downloaded. Skins can also be changed to make it look like real, I used the default skin.

The makers of this software knew that it would become popular and hence they have put a price tag of 299$ on it, wow, 299$ for a tool to mix music on, yup I say don’t go for it if you are a home user cos this tool is targeted for the professional DJ’s. Home Users can have fun with the trial version that they give. I think the price of this software is the reason why it is so popular in warez sites.

Recently my computer was hit by very a powerful virus and my Windows was completely damaged and I was thinking about formatting because the computer would refuse to go after the Windows XP loading screen, it automatically restarted and my computer didn’t have a floppy drive and didn’t make the boot cd. Finally I decided to lose all the data by formatting the hard disk using another computer. I called up my cousin for a computer to format it on (Linux), but he suggested that I can backup all data using Linux that ran from a CD, it was called Knoppix

I got a Knoppix DVD and put it in my computer and rebooted and it was super, the interface was simple but much better that Windows and there was so much I could do. It required no drivers (Windows used to shout for drivers for my modem). Finally I took a backup all important data via a USB drive and formatted the computer from Knoppix. I must tell all of you, keep a DVD of Knoppix, you never know when it can become handy.
