Global warming, pollution and rising prices of fuel are some of the major concerns all over the World and I’ve not seen many countries working real hard to control it, yeah some measures are being taken but they are not good enough. Technology keeps on getting better and makes out work easy, today brain power is more than muscle power (unlike the Roman fighting days) but this does not mean that it has to be sustainable. We are enjoying the good parts of life but will the same case be with the future generation? may be not.
Transportation system is one of the leading causes of pollution in many developing countries like India and here it costs about 1.5$ for a liter of Petrol (Gas?) but bikes here are very fuel efficient, they give about 80 kilometers per liter (Unlike Hayabusa which gives 8 kilometer per liter). These types of bikes not only save money but they save the environment, save nature and save natural resources. If all the bikes are replaced by fuel efficient bikes then the time for crude oil to get completely exhausted will be increased by 5 times.
Chinese are following a more sustainable method, they use bicycles. Not that they are poor but they want to contribute to nature (not exploit it). Going on a bicycle is health, costs nothing and does not consume any type of fuel that will deplete (and take a lot of time to replenish).
Yamaha Gladiator 165
I was ordered today to go out and get somethings from the doctor so I planned not to take the car instead I took my bike, Yamaha Gladiator and I wanted to have a little fun. I never knew that my bike was that powerful (though I do wheelie and other stunts).
Here’s what I did, I made my bike roar and go through out the road at 50 when it was in third gear, believe me I saw some people come out of their house to see what happened. I started my bike with normal first gear and before I changed the gear I took it to top speed in first gear and when I changed the gear to second it shouted at me once, then the sound when I changed from second gear to third gear, the sound was superb and I continued to do that till the end of the road.
Not that I am a big fan of loud noise from my bike, I wanted to experiment and that is what forced me to do this. Have you done anything similar?
Prior to 2007 a less powerful version of Suzuki Hayabusa was known as GSX1330R it became very popular because of it’s speed and later the market of the super fast bikes started to grow and lot of competition was seen. When it was released in 1999 it was the fastest bike in that time beating Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird, it became so popular they renamed it to Hayabusa, which means Peregrine Falcon.
GSX1300R was the first generation Hayabusa and had a 1300cc engine, in 2008 it’s powere was increased and 2008 Suzuki Hayabusa (second generation) was release, it has a 1340cc engine. It has a top speed of 340 kmph which has been reduced to 299 kmph by adding speed limiters.
