Projector in a Windows Mobile

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

A new device which enables Windows Mobile to work as a projector has been designed by [Stefano Casanova]. The phone looks very good and has a embedded projector which can be used to project what is coming on the Phone LCD on to a screen which makes mass viewing simple and less strenuous. The projector may not be as big as a movie hall projector but it is good and may give about 7 inch display in good quality.

See through filter
Ever wondered if you can see through clothes or ink that fell on your documents, well this is no dream, it can happen. I am not sure if it is a hoax but if this is true then privacy will become an old story. Kaya-Optics claims that this lens paired up with a good camera can see through clothes, ink and more. If inventions like these keep coming, our privacy ;-) will be gone for sure.

Bulletproof bag

In the state of growing terror and students killing each other, carrying this back pack is the best idea. It has the capacity to stop 0.44 Magnum bullet and would be worth the buy. This bag was mainly made for parents who were concerned about their children going in bad neighborhoods or studying in bad neighborhoods. Amazing isn’t it?

Optical Processors

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

One of the concepts that my friend gave me was about Optical Processors. Now electrons are pushed to transfer signals, what if that electron was replaced by a photon. A photon is faster than electron (Photon has the speed of light), thus the data transfer rate would be tremendous. Instead of identifying 0’s and 1’s by checking if the charge is there or not, we can determine 0’s and 1’s by checking if light (Photon) is present or not.

Advantages:

The computer would require very less electricity and would be very energy efficient as the actual transfer is due to light, electricity will be used to detect the presence of light. Not much copper would be required as use of optical fibre cables will be used for transmission of light. Overheating of processors will become history as light does not produce heat when passing through Optical Fibre Cable.

Disadvantages:

Making it will be one hell of a job, but some Indian scientists are working on it. Device can become a little sensitive as most of the cables inside will be Optical Fibres.
