Many of the readers in this blog are big business men (some of my friends that is) and I would like to tell them something about an online money market account, this is not promotion of a particular product but an insight to what it is.

A money market account is just like a regular savings bank account but the deposit that you keep always has to be above a certain limit like a thousand dollars. These accounts give more interest as compared to savings bank accounts.

Today technology has taken it to the next level. You can have money market accounts online! There are many banks offering this service (but be careful!). I wrote this post after surfing through the web and seeing that there is limited information on it.

Here is a quick summary of what an Online money market account is:

• Its an online account
• Requires a large initial deposit which has to be maintained all the time
• Some banks have a limit of three to four cheques a month

You must be wondering why I put it here, one is to give more info my blog readers and second is I am just amazed where technology has taken us. With the help of few computers, banks are able to reach the homes of every individual! Imagine a man in the 80’s who wanted to start an account like this, he had to go to a bank, fill a form etc… But now just one online application and a credit card number can do the trick.

Google, the search engine giant, have a new technology up their sleeves, this will be coming soon. It is a new type of image search. Just as Google gives page rank to every web page in its index, it is going to give images with a similar ranking.

Scientists from Google have submitted the paper. In this they claim that computers will be used to analyze not only the text associated with the image but the things in the image too.

Search engines today solely rely on text associated with the image, but this new technology will ensure that people will be able to get the right image results.

The above search was made on Google’s Image Search section and the tag red was used. From the above image we can see that all the results depend on the text associated with the image.

Mercury Computer Systems AUSG division had developed VistaNav and now Honeywell’s aerospace division has been given the license for the VistaNav product line.

VistaNav is a synthetic vision device. It helps pilots during the course of flight. It helps the pilots understand the flying environment. Synthetic vision devices were first introduced by Nasa.

Mercury Computer Systems and Honeywell are big brands. MC provides services algorithm enhancement, silicon research and development, telecommunication and other similar categories.

This had to make it to our Amazing section, look at that lady’s back you think that is a colour tattoo don’t you. Well that is not a colour tattoo but this tattoo is made by craving skin using special instruments. The other images, that is the once that were took while making this tattoo were so disgusting (the craved skin and all) that I decided not to put it here.

No matter how crazy you are don’t try this. Too much skin removal can cause problems like excessive blood loss, immense pain while sleeping and infection of body parts, why risk all that? Instead of doing this go get yourself a normal tattoo.

Dassault Systemes and Microsoft launched a new tool with which we can create realistic 3-D models of objects such as buildings, it’s called as Virtual Earth -3DVIA. It can be downloaded for free (for now) and used to create models in simple steps and then publish it and hence they can share it with the world.

“Virtual Earth -3DVIA users will be able to build a world that mixes their future projects and ideas with real-life places, buildings and structures,” said Lynne Wilson, senior vice president and general manager of 3DVIA at Dassault Systemes.

DS2 has announced a new Ethernet connection with theoretical transfer speed of 400 mbps which is twice as the present 200 mbps. The actual speed may vary but if it has good theoretical speed then it will have very good speed in daily use to. If you have too many computers connected or one modem for many computers then it will be good if you buy this. (more…)

Seen a mouse with a Golden brain, I did and it costs only 40$ a piece. This is not a real mouse but it is the one which we use while working on the computer. It is ergonomically made but is meant only for home and office use.

[John Davis] has finally built a Boeing 747 life-size cockpit in his bedroom. The simulator works and provides the flying experience and it cost him 15000 UK Pounds (30500 USD) and it’s main body is made of wood.

John Davis has a glider license but he didn’t get a license for flying planes because he was weak in Math. He is a graphic designer turned Bedroom 747 designer.

He says that the research on the throttle and flight simulation was obtained from the internet, it is nearly as big as the real cockpit of the 747.

A quick way to transfer data from one hard disk to another is the dream of every computer expert and this device makes that possible. It is available at for 33€ at GeekStuff4U.com. The device called as the SATA HDD stage rack looks like an ordinary black box with buttons. Transferring data is super-easy, all you have to do is take the device, plug it into the computer (PC or Mac) and then put the SATA HDD into the slot and that is all you need to do. You can plug it in to your computer using standard USB port, if you are a HDD freak or you work in a data center, this is an absolute must.
