Toshiba to make PS3’s chips?
In an report from Yahoo News an anonymous person from Sony has told that all the chip operations are sold to be Toshiba (Japan). The deal includes the manufacturing of the “Cell” chip that is used in the Sony game consoles.
A Japanese daily, “The Nikkei” reported that the deal is going to be an estimated 100 billion yen ($858 Million). The Nikkei said Sony and its video game unit will invest in the manufacturing operation for the Cell chip. It also said Sony will sell to Toshiba its manufacturing operations for digital-imaging chips that it now runs with Toshiba.
